MISSION STATEMENT The Iowa City Transportation Services Department is committed to providing convenient, safe and courteous service to the citizens and visitors of Iowa City.

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION The Transportation Services Department manages the City’s Parking and Public Transportation divisions. All divisions are self-supporting enterprise funds with the exception of the Administration division that is located in the General Fund. The Public Transportation division was transferred out of the General Fund and into its own enterprise fund starting in fiscal year 2013. The Administration division manages the activities of the two divisions and also oversees the Central Business District maintenance operations. The Parking division consists of Administration, On-street, Parking Lot, and Parking Ramp operations. The division oversees the operation of four parking structures with 2,486 off-street spaces, 1,302 on-street and surface parking lot spaces, and 148 designated motorcycle/scooter spaces.
