113 Carson Lake Regional Storm Water

Construction of a regional storm water management facility on the middle branch of Willow Creek immediately west of Highway 218. This facility will serve development west of Highway 218 and south of Rohret Road. This project will repair a box culvert that carries Ralston Creek under Iowa Avenue. Aerial mapping done for the update to the flood plain maps revealed that sedimentation has consumed a portion of the capacity of the facility. This basin is located in Hickory Hill Park. Storm sewer retrofit to relieve localized flooding from storm water runoff. The area just north and south of Kineton Green, east of Sunset, has experienced back yard flooding and drainage problems. This will be a joint project with the University of Iowa to upgrade the Riverside Drive / Arts Campus storm sewer and lift station to perform better during future floods.

As recommended in the Parks and Recreation Master Plan, construct a major new Recreation & Aquatic Center, probably in the western part of Iowa City.

121 Mercer Park Pool Improvements This project would include the replacement of the two pool bulkheads, deck tile, dive stands, and the renovation of the women's locker room from a shared shower space to two separate shower spaces. 122 Waterworks Park Boat Ramp This project is to add a boat ramp to access the Iowa River in the northeast corner of Waterworks Park. Improvements include a boat ramp, boat trailer parking, a boat dock, and an access road.

123 Riverfront Crossings Park - Phase 4 124 Riverfront Crossings Park Restroom & Bridge 125 Gilbert Street/Park Maint Shop Boat Ramp 126 Iowa River Trail, Benton To Highway 6

Phase 4 of the Riverfront Crossings Park master plan adds a new river access, an amphitheater, a kayak launch, and new river trails. Construction of second restroom/shelter by Nature Play and second bridge to 2nd Street; also includes removing an abandoned trunk sewer line. Addition of an accessible boat access to the Iowa River from the parking lot at the Park Maintenance Shop. This project will extend the Iowa River Trail from Benton St to Highway 6, on the west side of the Iowa River. Future phases of the trail could extend to Sturgis Ferry Park and on top of the west side levee to McCollister Blvd.
