Description This project will demolish 7 picnic shelters and 1 restroom in Lower City Park and replace these with 1 large and 4 small shelters and renovate an existing restroom facility. The remaining facilities will be in locations further from the river as outlined in Lower City Park Master Plan.
Justification The shelters and restrooms in Lower City Park are quickly reaching the end of their serviceable life. Some are in areas that are prone to regular flooding. This project follows recommendations of the 2016 Lower City Park Master Plan and 2017 Park Master Plan while repositioning and resizing the shelters to meet current and future use patterns.
