Description The landfill six-acre compost pad will be backfilled in multiple areas to fill large pits. An asphalt layer will be added to cover the rock and a seal coat will be applied to prevent liquids from seeping. A seal coat will be added to cover the raw millings on the eastern half of the pad that has not been sealed in the past.

Justification The landfill six-acre compost pad and wood processing pad is in need of significant repair. Deferred maintenance over many years has resulted in the need for repair to ensure customer safety and regulatory compliance. The pad must meet the Iowa Department of Natural Resources' requirements for impermeability and for stormwater control.
