Communications Office

The Communications Office leads the City’s internal and external communications efforts, supporting departments and divisions across the organization. The team manages media relations, develops informational and promotional campaigns, and coordinates neighborhood outreach and engagement initiatives. It also provides public information support for the Police and Fire dep artments, oversees content for the City’s website and intranet, promotes City programs and events through social media, and supervises operations for Cable Television (City Channel 4). • The Communications Office supports the City’s internal and external communications through a wide range of services. The team coordinates media relations, informational efforts, and promotional campaigns; maintains the City’s public website and employee intranet; and manages official social media channels. In collaboration with Cable Television staff, the office develops and distributes photography and video content for television, social media, and City news platforms. The division also advises departments on communications-related policies and procedures, promotes community events, and provides creative services across the organization. Communications supports Citywide customer service by managing the online customer service portal and staffing the front lobby information desk, which serves as the primary point of contact at City Hall. Additionally, the office oversees neighborhood outreach and engagement initiatives and provides public safety communications support for the Police and Fire departments. • Cable TV Administration manages the operations of the Cable TV Office and oversees the production of video content for social media, City Channel 4, and cable television. The office provides audio-visual support and media production services to City departments and divisions, enhancing the delivery of public information and internal communications. In addition to production responsibilities, the office serves as a resource for resolving subscriber complaints related to the local cable provider. It also monitors and evaluates changes in federal and state laws, regulations, and legal decisions that may impact cable television operations and policy. • Cable TV Reserves are allocated for the purchase of equipment and supplies necessary to support operations, including computer hardware, software, and related technology.
