Selected National Library Comparison

The charts below present data from selected public libraries. Data were compiled by the Institute of Museum and Library Services. Fiscal year 2023 reported data are used, the most recent available for comparison libraries. Libraries were selected based on their similarities to ICPL services and their cities’ similarities to Iowa City. *Population includes residents for each library’s entire service area, including contracting cities and proportional representations of rural county populations. For instance, the population used for Iowa City includes a portion of rural county residents, Hills, and University Heights. This is important to help standardize data.
