Summer 2023 Activity Guide

DISCOVERY GARDEN The Children’s Discovery Garden at Robert A. Lee Rec Center offers a refreshing slice of greenery and nature in Downtown Iowa City. As a certified Nature Explore classroom, it offers activities to engage young people and families as they explore the garden areas. We also focus on growing edible plants such as cherries, tomatoes, cucumbers, and herbs. The garden is open to the public and community members can pick produce for free during the growing season. GARDEN WAGON Explore plants, insects, and soil: make music and move through the Discovery Garden when you use the garden wagon. Observation, inquiry, and hands-on sensory experiences into the surrounding natural world are realized by the use of our Garden Wagon supplies. Suggested ages are 3-8 years. SUMMER CAMP Do you like being outdoors, learning new things, being creative, or having fun? If so, this Summer Camp is the place for you!
