Description Install new high efficiency mixers in aeration basin trains 1-4, Cell 9 to improve mixing and reduce energy usage. Includes four new high efficiency mixers, electrical improvements and installation. Justification 2010 project made significant improvements to the aeration basin. Cell 9 was not fitted with a mixer but relied on mixing by compressed air. Mixing by compressed air is not as efficient as using a mechanical mixer. The mixers are high efficiency and a lower horsepower than the current mixers installed in Cells 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, and 10. This will reduce wear and tear on the aeration blowers and reduce our electrical usage and carbon footprint. Total Pr oject Cost: $238,000 Status Active
