FY27 Proposed Budget

Boards and Commissions: The Human Rights Commission’s duties include:

1. Educating the public about civil rights and illegal discrimination by sharing information and hosting public forums on a wide range of human rights topics. 2. Advising the City Council by recommending new or updated legislation related to discrimination when needed. 3. Promoting harmony in the community through programs and activities. Recent Accomplishments:  Preventive work and outreach: trainings, vendor/outreach programs, fair-housing initiatives.

Upcoming Challenges:  Anticipating and responding to new legislation, regulatory changes, and policy guidance.

Staffing Level Change Summary: There are no staffing level changes in the fiscal year 2027 budget.

Financial Highlights: The overall decrease for fiscal year 2027 is 9.9%. This is due to utilizing LOST to fund Human Rights grants.
