Death Cafe Fridays, Jan 2, Feb 6, 1-2 pm Location: Room 308 Register online or call 319-356-5220 Facilitator: Craig Mosher A Death Café is a safe place for people to talk about death in order to make the most of life. New people are encouraged to join anytime. This is not a bereavement support group or grief counseling session. This is open to people of all ages, no membership or registration required. Addiction/Moderation Support Group Tuesdays, starting Jan 6, 5:30-6:30 pm Location: Room 309 Facilitator: Brett Kass, Substance Abuse Counselor Are you dealing with issues related to addiction and moderation? Whether you're managing your relationship to alcohol, drugs, work, sex, food, gambling, or anything else, this weekly open discussion group can help you find supportive community, motivation, connection, guidance, and helpful resources. ICSC Photography Club Fridays, Jan 9, Feb 13, 3-4 pm Location: Room 308 Register online or call 319-356-5220 Join the ICSC Photography Club, hosted by staff member Brad Mowrey, for monthly meetings to discuss gear, show photos, tell stories, and ask questions. FFM returns for the Spring 2026 installment of our Dreaming Iowa series, which will feature historic songs from Iowa settlers and immigrants and about women's rights, songs about wild places in Iowa, and songs about belonging. The Family Folk Machine is a non auditioned ensemble; everyone is welcome. Fee: $75 per adult and $50 per kid age 6 and up, with reduced fees available. Iowa City New Horizons Band Tuesdays, Thursdays, Jan 20 - May 7, 9:30-10:30 am Location: Assembly Room Whether you're picking up an instrument for the first time or revisiting a long-loved hobby, our band is the perfect place to grow and learn together. Led by experienced University of Iowa School of Music instructors, our sessions are designed to support your musical journey at every level. Sing a wide variety of music in a welcoming, inclusive, and friendly atmosphere with ICSC’s mixed-voice choral ensemble, directed by Jon Ranard. Musical selections include everything from big band to opera, country to traditional choral literature, jazz to gospel, and so much more. Fee: $50 ($25 for those with ICSC's low-income membership); pay at registration. Membership required.

A therapeutic singing group designed for people with Parkinson’s disease, their caregivers, and family members. This program uses vocal, breathing, and movement exercises to address common PD symptoms, enhancing vocal strength, respiratory function, and motor coordination through rhythmic and vocal exercises. It also promotes emotional well-being and social connection.
