LINE DANCE & TAP DANCE CLASSES Line Dance Tuesdays, Nov 4 - Dec 16, 3-4 pm Location: Assembly Room Register online or call 319-356-5220 Instructors: Sherian Piper and Elton Combs Line Dance is good for the brain and the body. No partner or experience is necessary, but a knowledge of basic line dance steps is needed. In this class we’ll review old dances, learn new ones, have fun, and make new friends. Membership required. Absolute Beginner Line Dance Thursdays, Nov 6 - Dec 11, 3-4:30 pm Location: Room G13 Register online or call 319-356-5220 Instructor: Sherian Piper Dance experience is not necessary to line dance, but a basic knowledge of steps is needed. In this class, you will learn how to do the basic steps—jazz step, weave, grapevine, Monterey turn, paddle turn, pivot turn—and apply them in learning easy choreographed line dances. This class is for you if you’ve never line danced before or if you just want to line dance more. Get ready to learn, make new friends, and have fun! Membership required.
Move Better, Feel Better: Lower Back Monday, Nov 17, 1:30-2:30 pm Location: Room G13 Register online or call 319-356-5220 Instructor: Megan Valencia Share your individual story of pain and learn more about your problem area in a small group setting, led by Megan Valencia, a licensed massage therapist with more than twenty years of experience. Every participant will receive a little bodywork (Rossiter) from Megan to stretch and speed healing, as well as some exercises and stretches to do at home to continue improvement. Participants should be able to get on and off the floor at least once. Limited to 3 participants. Fee: $50 ($37.50 for those with ICSC’s low income membership), pay instructor at the beginning of program. Membership required. The Dementia Journey Wednesday, Nov 19, 12-1:30 pm Location: Room 302 Register online or call 319-356-5220 Instructor: Mary McCall This session is designed to provide basic information about the various types of dementia that a person might have, how they are similar and different, what different stages might be, what questions can be asked of health care providers, what supports can be explored, and how to anticipate caregiving and support challenges. Mindfulness Practice Group Tuesdays, 3:30-4 pm Location: Zoom Register online or call 319-356-5220 Facilitator: Emily Edrington Join us for a weekly group practice of guided meditation. Cultivate your day-to-day skills for living in the present rather than worrying about the future, ruminating on the past, or zoning out on autopilot.

Mary Ann has been leading an informal group of advanced tap dancers for years and now she is opening the group to others who have tap dance experience. They will be working on timing, various dances and Eddie Brown's BS chorus. Membership required.
