Local Option Sales Tax on the Ballot November 4 Monday, Nov 3, 2-3 pm Location: Room 302 Learn about the one-cent Local Option Sales Tax (LOST) on the ballot this fall, what the tax would and wouldn't apply to, and how the new revenue could be used to support Iowa City's priorities.

Are you missing your faraway grandkids and looking to make some new connections across generations? Would you like a chance to interact with little ones and younger parents in your community? Or maybe you're already taking care of young kids and need to get out into the world? Join us for Grand Babies, an intergenerational story time program that brings together babies, parents, nannies, and older adults for stories, songs, and interactive activities. Hosted by ICSC and the Iowa City Public Library, this free program fosters early literacy, social connections, and a sense of belonging across generations.

Iowa Fraud Fighters shield their savings from scammers and fraudulent investment, consumer, and Medicare offers. Join the Iowa Department of Insurance and Financial Services to learn how to arm yourself with expert fraud prevention tips and avoid scams.

Nursing Home 5-Star Ratings Thursday, Dec 11, 11 am - 12 pm Location: Room 302

Presenters: Mercedes Bern-Klug and Ivy Hamilton Did you know nursing homes are rated by the government? Come to this 30-minute presentation and learn the basics of how the government rates US nursing homes and how to track down information online.

Fighting Scams and Fraud Friday, Dec 12, 1-2 pm Location: Room 302

The Iowa City Police Department invites you to attend a presentation to learn about current scams being used and ways to fight against them, with real life examples from people who see it firsthand.

Community Coffee & Table to Table Mondays, 9 am - 12 pm Location: 1st Floor Lobby Start your week off with a cup of joe and some informal conversation in the 1st floor lobby of the Senior Center. All are welcome! Free grocery deliveries from Table to Table arrive in the Assembly Room, usually around 11 am on Mondays, and are open to anyone in need. Participants are called in randomized small groups to enter the room to shop. Registration/check-in is required for Table to Table shopping.

Table to Table bridges the gap between abundance and hunger. Its mission is to increase food equity and reduce environmental harm by collecting and redistributing surplus food to people who can use it.
